Ryan Gosling Set to Host SNL in March with Three Exciting Back-to-Back Episodes
NBC is preparing to air three consecutive episodes of Saturday Night Live starting at the end of February.
Actor Ryan Gosling will host the show on March 7, with Gorillaz slated as the musical guest. He will be following Connor Storrie, the star of Heated Rivalry, who is set to host on February 28 alongside Mumford & Sons.
As of now, the episode on March 14 has yet to announce a host or musical guest.
This will mark Gosling’s fourth time hosting Saturday Night Live, coinciding with the release of his new film, Project Hail Mary, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, which hits theaters on March 20. Gosling first hosted the show in December 2015, with subsequent appearances in September 2017 and April 2024.
During his previous stint, which promoted The Fall Guy, Gosling broke character multiple times, particularly during a Beavis and Butt-Head sketch. He also surprised viewers by bringing out Emily Blunt and former SNL star Kate McKinnon for a new edition of the Close Encounters sketch.
That episode earned Gosling his first Emmy nomination in the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category and attracted 8.9 million viewers, the largest audience for the show since Billie Eilish’s hosting in December 2021, according to NBCUniversal.
The upcoming episode will also feature the SNL debut of the British animated band Gorillaz, known for their unique blend of music and visual art. The group, formed by Blur’s Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett, will release their latest album, The Mountain, on February 27.
