Row K Entertainment, Angel, and StudioCanal to Present at the New CinemaCon Showcase
CinemaCon Introduces New Program Featuring Angel Studios, Row K Entertainment, and StudioCanal
CinemaCon is set to enhance its upcoming Las Vegas event with a new showcase, featuring presentations by Angel Studios, Row K Entertainment, and StudioCanal on the main stage at Caesars Palace. The CinemaCon Film Showcase will take place on Monday afternoon, as part of the larger conference running from April 13 to 16.
This marks the first time Angel Studios will present on the main stage, which has traditionally highlighted major studios promoting their upcoming films. According to Michael O’Leary, president and CEO of Cinema United, the organization behind CinemaCon, the inclusion of these companies reflects the importance of a diverse range of films for the theatrical landscape. “Movie theatres around the world in cities and towns of all sizes rely upon these movies 52 weeks out of the year,” O’Leary emphasized, noting the critical role these films play in engaging audiences globally.
Anna March, CEO of StudioCanal and chief content officer of Canal+, expressed enthusiasm about presenting at The Colosseum. “Connecting with the exhibition community is a very special moment for StudioCanal and the Canal+ group. We remain firmly committed to films made for the big screen,” she stated.
Brandon Purdie, EVP and head of theatrical at Angel, remarked on the importance of variety in film offerings, stating, “Theaters thrive when audiences have options. We’re proud to stand with Cinema United, CinemaCon, and our partners in exhibition as we redefine the future of theatrical moviegoing together.”
Co-chairs Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh of Row K reinforced the notion that the cinematic experience is irreplaceable. “CinemaCon is a powerful reminder that the theatrical experience remains the heartbeat of our industry,” they said. “Great films deserve to be experienced on the big screen.”
Angel is currently enjoying success with its release of Solo Mio, along with previous hits like David, Sound of Freedom, Homestead, and The King of Kings. Row K, which takes its name from the prime seating area in theaters, recently debuted Gus Van Sant’s Dead Man’s Wire. Established in 2025, Row K’s upcoming slate includes Poetic License, marking Maude Apatow’s directorial debut, along with Cliffhanger, featuring Pierce Brosnan and Lily James, and Charlie Harper, directed by Tom Dean and Mac Eldridge. The company, a subsidiary of Media Capital Technologies, collaborates with CAA Media Finance for advisory support.
StudioCanal, the production arm of Canal+, produces and distributes around 200 films annually, boasting a library that encompasses 9,400 titles from 60 countries over a century. The studio has also invested nearly 25 million euros in the 4K restoration of approximately 1,000 classic films in the past seven years.
Major studios such as Sony, Warner Bros, Universal Pictures/Focus Features, Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount, and Disney are among the presenters at this key exhibition convention. While Lionsgate will not take the stage this year, it will still maintain a presence at the event.
