Rosalía Opens Up About Loneliness in Recent Interview
In a candid discussion on Popcast, Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía shared her struggles with loneliness, highlighting the challenges that accompany her successful career. The artist, who released her fourth studio album Lux on November 7, revealed how her constant travel for work impacts her personal relationships.
“Loneliness is my lesson in this life,” the 33-year-old artist said. Rosalía expressed discomfort with feeling isolated, emphasizing her social nature. “I really don’t like loneliness. I’m a very social person. I like to be surrounded by my friends. I like to be surrounded by my family.”
She elaborated on her desire for companionship, stating, “I love having a significant other and sharing with a significant other. I love affection. I think that I always need to believe that there’s a possibility of… have faith in love.”
When asked about balancing love and her demanding career, Rosalía acknowledged the difficulties it poses. “I always find myself having to be in a different country that is not where I come from in order to do my job and to collaborate with the collaborators that I love,” she noted. This constant movement often requires her to isolate herself, even from romantic partners, during her creative process.
Rosalía conveyed the emotional toll of her lifestyle, saying, “It’s a learning process.” She also shared her methods of coping with loneliness, which include listening to Nina Simone, taking baths, eating ice cream, going for walks, and reaching out to her sister.
The artist’s personal life has garnered attention as well. Rosalía was previously linked to actor Jeremy Allen White, with the couple first appearing together in October 2023. Their last public sighting took place in July 2024 at a pop-up event in Los Angeles. White has openly expressed his admiration for Rosalía, calling her his favorite Spanish artist.
