Roku Reaches Milestone of 100 Million Streaming Households Worldwide
Roku announced on Thursday that it has reached a significant milestone, surpassing 100 million global streaming households.
This achievement, recorded this month, encompasses users across a variety of connected devices and smart TVs. Roku has secured licensing agreements with several original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), allowing its interface to be featured on more than one-third of TVs in North America. In addition, its interface is now present in half of U.S. broadband households.
While Roku joins competitors like Samsung and Tubi in the 100 million range, those figures pertain to monthly active users (MAUs), which do not provide a direct comparison. MAUs count users who have engaged with the platform at least once in a month, establishing a relatively low bar for user engagement. In contrast, Roku’s count reflects households with at least one member streaming on its platform within an average 30-day period.
In defining its 100 million streaming households, Roku considers the distinct user accounts using its platform for streaming in a given month.

Roku’s extensive reach across TVs and devices has contributed to the robust profile of the Roku Channel, its flagship service. According to Nielsen, the channel ranked sixth among all streaming services in February, just behind Peacock and ahead of Tubi and Paramount+. The company is also focusing increasingly on revenue from streaming subscriptions.
“Surpassing 100 million streaming households is a defining moment, not just for Roku, but for the future of television,” said Roku CEO Anthony Wood. “We’re helping shape the entertainment landscape by making it easier to discover great content, more affordable to watch it, and more effective for advertisers and partners around the world to connect with audiences. We are deeply grateful to our viewers, teams, advertisers, and partners for helping us reach this milestone. And as the shift to streaming continues to accelerate, we’re more energized than ever to lead the evolution of television.”
