Romy Reiner, the daughter of the late actor-director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, was unaware of her mother’s death when she discovered her father’s body in their Los Angeles home, as reported in a recent article.
On the afternoon of December 14, 2025, Romy, 27, arrived at the family’s Brentwood residence after a massage therapist was unable to gain access. The New York Times detailed how the alarming situation unfolded.
Upon entering, Romy found her father’s body and reportedly fled the home, not knowing that her mother was also dead inside. A source revealed that paramedics later conveyed the tragic news to her regarding Michele.
Earlier reports indicated that Romy had made the grim discovery just hours before her brother Nick was located by law enforcement. He was arrested near the University of Southern California campus around 9:15 p.m. that same evening and was not present at the home during the incident.

Romy is the youngest child of Rob and Michele, joining her brothers Nick, 32, and Jake, 34.
On December 16, Nick was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, reportedly with the special allegation of using a knife. If convicted, he could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman has not ruled out the possibility of seeking the death penalty in this case.
“Prosecuting cases involving family violence are some of the most challenging and heart-wrenching we face because of the intimate and often brutal nature of the crimes,” Hochman stated. “Rob Reiner was one of the greatest filmmakers of his generation. His murder, along with that of his wife of over 35 years, Michele Singer Reiner, is shocking and tragic. We owe it to their memory to pursue justice and accountability for the lives that were taken.”
