Riley Green Joins the Coaching Roster for Season 30 of The Voice
NBC’s hit show The Voice is set to welcome country singer Riley Green as a new coach for its upcoming 30th season. Green joins returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, with another star expected to be announced soon.
This past season, which concluded recently, featured Clarkson, Levine, and John Legend as the coaching team. Season 30 is anticipated to return this fall with four coaches.
Riley Green, recognized for his hit singles like "There Was This Girl," "I Wish Grandpas Never Died," "Half of Me," and "Different ‘Round Here," is making his debut as a judge in a singing competition. However, he is not new to reality television, having previously starred in CMT’s Redneck Island in 2012. He also made a recent appearance in a four-episode arc on CBS’s Yellowstone spinoff, Marshals, portraying one of Kayce Dutton’s former Navy SEAL teammates.
Green announced his new role on Instagram, sharing a voicemail message from Clarkson. In welcoming him, she stated, “We have never officially met… I am super stoked to coach alongside you. Welcome to The Voice. I was stoked when I heard you’re going to be a coach because I actually am a super fan of your music, man, you’re so good. You probably know that, because I’ve covered your songs, big fan. But, needless to say, fan and all, it’s a competition. So I, as a future friend, I sent you something, a little gift, while you’re out on the road doing shows to get your head in the game for The Voice coming up, because I think you’re gonna need the practice, because team Kelly’s gonna whoop that ass.”
In response, Green remarked, “I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall.”
The Voice is produced by MGM Television, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, and ITV America, and was created by John De Mol. The executive production team includes Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher, and Barry Poznick.
