Renewed for Its Final Season: What to Expect from ‘From’ on MGM+
MGM+ has confirmed the renewal of its acclaimed sci-fi series, From, for a fifth and final season. This announcement arrives just ahead of the show’s Season 4 premiere on April 19.
Production for Season 5 will begin later this year in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with an anticipated premiere in 2027.
Created by John Griffin, known for Crater, From delves into the unsettling mysteries surrounding a town that ensnares everyone who enters. Griffin serves as an executive producer alongside showrunner Jeff Pinkner, recognized for his work on Lost, Alias, and Fringe, and director Jack Bender, famed for his contributions to Lost and Game of Thrones.
In a joint statement, Pinkner, Griffin, and Bender expressed their enthusiasm: “We are wildly excited to announce that we’ve officially begun work on season 5, which means we will get the chance to see our story to its conclusion. Which means questions will be answered. Answers will be questioned. And there will surely be a cascade of tears and terrors in between. We are thankful for the support of our friends and partners at MGM+. We’re excited to share season 4 with you and hope it whets your appetite for what’s to come.”
As Season 4 unfolds, the residents grow increasingly desperate for answers, leading to a more terrifying quest. Key questions linger: Who is the Man in Yellow, and what are his intentions? Will Jade and Tabitha’s discoveries be vital for their escape? How much longer can Boyd maintain order as his own stability deteriorates? The season promises to reveal answers that some characters might prefer to remain undisclosed, as noted in the official logline.
Harold Perrineau leads a talented ensemble cast, which includes Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, Hannah Cheramy, Simon Webster, Ricky He, Chloe Van Landschoot, Corteon Moore, Pegah Ghafoori, David Alpay, Elizabeth Saunders, Avery Konrad, Scott McCord, Nathan D. Simmons, Kaelen Ohm, Angela Moore, A.J. Simmons, Julia Doyle, Robert Joy, and Samantha Brown.
Michael Wright, global head of MGM+, remarked on the significance of From: “Since my first meeting with John, Jeff, and Jack five years ago, when I heard their remarkable story, I have been looking forward to one day bringing From’s epic conclusion to our passionate fans. From represents the pinnacle of what MGM+ strives for; world-class talent, cinematic production values, and classic storytelling that keeps you on the edge of your seat. To our incredible FROMily: we’ve heard you, we’re with you, and we promise a final chapter that is as unforgettable as the mystery itself.”
From is produced by MGM+ Studios. Additional executive producers include Perrineau, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, and Scott Rosenberg from Midnight Radio, along with Anthony and Joe Russo and Mike Larocca from AGBO, and Lindsay Dunn. Adrienne Erickson from Midnight Radio serves as co-executive producer. The series is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
