Reacher Gets Renewed for Season 5 on Prime Video
Prime Video Renews ‘Reacher’ for Fifth Season Ahead of Season 4 Premiere
Prime Video has announced the renewal of its successful series Reacher for a fifth season, prior to the highly anticipated premiere of Season 4 later this year. This decision reflects the show’s “continued success and global appeal of the action-packed drama,” according to a statement made on Monday.
The series, based on Lee Child’s bestselling Jack Reacher novels, stars Alan Ritchson as Reacher, a drifter who travels across the country with only the essentials. He often finds himself in precarious situations that test his intellect and physical prowess.
Season 4 will adapt the 13th book in Child’s series, Gone Tomorrow. In this installment, a chance encounter with a distressed stranger on a subway spirals into a complex and perilous game, pitting Reacher against formidable adversaries from the highest levels of power.
New cast members for Season 4 include Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson. Filming for the new season concluded in March.
Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, remarked, “From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise. The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world. We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season Four’s debut and to build on this incredible momentum.”
Reacher is produced by Paramount Television Studios in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios. The series is written by Nick Santora, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Alongside Santora and Child, Ritchson shares executive producer duties with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, Lisa Kussner, Sam Hill, Amy Pocha, and Seth Cohen. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid oversee the series for Paramount Television Studios.
