Ray J has provided a candid update regarding his health after his recent hospitalization.
The artist was admitted earlier this month due to pneumonia and heart pain. In a recent Instagram post, Ray J revealed the current state of his health and expressed gratitude for the support he has received from fans.
In an Instagram video shared over the weekend, he thanked followers for their prayers during his health crisis. “I want to thank everybody for praying for me,” Ray J stated. “I was in a hospital. My heart’s only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right.”
Despite his positive outlook, Ray J acknowledged the severity of his condition, saying, “My health is not okay, so I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me.”
In a previous Instagram Live session, during which the video was later shared on social media platform X, the singer remarked, “2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” elaborating that doctors had informed him of his limited life expectancy. He attributed his health issues to past substance abuse, admitting he once felt “invincible.”
Ray J was hospitalized on January 7 after experiencing severe pneumonia and heart pain, as reported by TMZ. Sources close to him indicated that he underwent tests like X-rays and an echocardiogram, though specific results were not disclosed.
Ray J has a history with pneumonia, having faced another bout in 2021 when he was treated at a Miami hospital. At that time, his manager, David Weintraub, indicated that the pneumonia was not contagious and that doctors opted to keep him for additional monitoring.

Weintraub confirmed that Ray J did not have COVID-19, despite initially being treated in a COVID unit. During his hospitalization, Ray J was reported to be hooked up to oxygen and utilized an inhaler for breathing assistance.
In a message relayed through his manager, Ray J expressed: “I appreciate all the love and support from everybody. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers, and I will be back up and running soon.”
