NEAR & DEAR: Kylie Minogue Celebrates a Decade of Christmas Music
Kylie Minogue is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her holiday classic, Kylie Christmas, with the release of a deluxe edition titled Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped). The Australian pop icon expressed her desire to honor the album, stating it holds a special place in the hearts of many during the festive season.
"People have this record in their homes and hearts, and it rolls around every year," Minogue remarked. The deluxe edition, released on December 12, features the original album’s beloved tracks alongside four new songs: “Hot In December,” “This Time of Year,” “Office Party,” and the Amazon Music Original “XMAS.”
Reflecting on the project, Minogue, now 57, described it as "ambitious," especially following her Tension tour. However, she believes it was "the perfect time" to celebrate the album that originally launched in 2015.
In an interview, she shared insights regarding the album’s inception, highlighting that her journey into Christmas music began long before the original album was conceived.
“After my cover of ‘Santa Baby’ in 2001, I never imagined making a full album,” she explained. The process of creating the initial record was joyful, filled with decorations and performances reminiscent of the holiday spirit.
When asked why she felt the anniversary warranted this new edition, she noted the impact the songs have had over the years. "It might have seemed like lunacy at the start of this year with a world tour on the horizon, but the footage from my tour made me realize this was the perfect opportunity to do it," she added.

With regards to the newly added songs, she recounted how one, “XMAS,” had lingered in her mind for a decade. “It was a chorus idea from a performance in 2015, and I felt it was time to finally bring it to life,” she shared.
Minogue also spoke about her plans for this year’s holiday season, emphasizing the importance of family time. “We always have a few ring-ins on Christmas. I’m going to rest, take stock, be thankful, and then workshop my way toward 2026,” she said.
As for potential future projects, including another holiday album or the anticipated Tension III, Minogue indicated that while it remains to be seen, she has plenty of ideas.
Reflecting also on her recent Tension tour, she highlighted a particular standout moment, the sold-out performances at Madison Square Garden. "It felt like togetherness… that line between on stage and not on stage…we broke that line a lot, which was my intention," she expressed.
The festive edition Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped) is now available, inviting listeners to indulge in the warmth and joy of the holiday spirit alongside Minogue’s musical journey.
