Rachel Zoe Reflects on Family Dynamics Post-Separation
In the season 15 premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, fashion mogul Rachel Zoe discussed her evolving relationship with ex-husband Rodger Berman, who has been publicly dating Bree Jacoby since their separation in September 2024. Zoe revealed that their two sons, Skyler, 14, and Kaius, 11, are aware of this new development.
"Rodger has had the same girl for a year," Zoe shared. "The kids have known probably for 10 months," indicating that the family has been adjusting to Berman’s new relationship.
When prompted about the timeline of Berman’s new relationship, Zoe noted, “I’ll let you do the math.” She described the impact of their separation on their children, explaining that the boys’ relationship with Berman has been challenging. "I think that they wonder why he sometimes does or says things he says, why he acts the way he does, why there’s time spent with his girlfriend versus his kids," she remarked.
While Zoe strives to view Berman as a friend, she acknowledged they are not yet at that stage.

Zoe and Berman, who met while studying at George Washington University in 1991, were married for 26 years. Reflecting on their relationship, Zoe noted, “We were together for 33 years. We were together for 18 years before we had kids. I think after we had kids, it changes. I think we’ve outgrown each other… we became very different people."
The designer attributed some strain in their relationship to their working partnership, expressing regret that "lines got crossed." She described Berman as having become "unrecognizable" over time, stating, "Ultimately, that person didn’t feel right around me or my kids."
Despite acknowledging the difficulty of the months following their separation, Zoe has found solace in her new living situation. "I don’t come home to an empty house sad. I come home to an empty house smiling. It’s very peaceful," she remarked.
Zoe emphasized that her primary concern remains the welfare of her sons. "If my kids are great, all is fine," she affirmed.
While she has previously addressed rumors regarding Berman’s infidelity, she stated, "the timeline’s the timeline," underscoring her focus on how their situation impacts their children.
Zoe concluded, “Life is wild, and I can say it takes a whole lot to really shock me.”
