Rachel Bloom’s Comedy Pilot ‘Do You Want Kids?’ Won’t Air on ABC
ABC has renewed its two remaining comedy series, Scrubs and Shifting Gears, but has chosen not to proceed with its sole comedy pilot for the upcoming season, Do You Want Kids?. The pilot starred Rachel Bloom and Rory Scovel.
Written by Bloom and her husband, Dan Gregor, and directed by Trent O’Donnell, Do You Want Kids? explores the lives of married couple Rosie (played by Bloom) and Alex Vasilescu (portrayed by Scovel). The storyline contrasts two different universes, one in which they have a baby and another where they do not, highlighting how this significant decision impacts their lives.

Alongside Bloom and Scovel, the pilot included performances by Pete Gardner, Caitlin Reilly, and Stephanie Weir. The show was executive produced by Bloom, Gregor, and O’Donnell, in collaboration with Steven Levitan and Danielle Stokdyk from Levitan Productions, as well as Jeff Morton, all under the umbrella of 20th Television.
