Olivia Rodrigo and Ashley Padilla Share a Fun Moment in ‘SNL’ Promo
As Olivia Rodrigo prepares for her debut as host on Saturday Night Live this weekend, she is also returning as the musical guest for the third time. In a new promotional teaser, she engaged in playful banter with cast member Ashley Padilla, generating excitement among fans.
In the promotional clip released on Thursday, the three-time Grammy winner humorously tackled Padilla in a playful moment. While Padilla expressed her existential fears about life after death, saying, “I couldn’t sleep because I’m afraid of what happens when we die,” Rodrigo reassured her, “Aw, it’s not so bad. Here, look.” The skit culminated with Rodrigo wrapping her arms around Padilla until the comedian playfully ended up on the floor.
Their humorous exchange also referenced Rodrigo’s 2021 debut single “Driver’s License” and her albums Sour (2021) and Guts (2023). Currently, Rodrigo is promoting her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, set for release on June 12. Earlier this month, she unveiled the album’s lead single, “Drop Dead.”
Following Rodrigo’s appearance, Matt Damon and Will Ferrell will close out Season 51 as the final hosts, accompanied by musical guests Noah Kahan and Paul McCartney, respectively.
