Prince Andrew May Face Investigation Over Allegations of Sharing Trade Secrets with Jeffrey Epstein
Former Prince Andrew Faces Renewed Scrutiny Over Allegations of Trade Confidentiality Breach
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, known formerly as Prince Andrew, is once again under investigation due to allegations that he disclosed confidential trade information to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The complaint has been filed by the anti-monarchy group Republic and is currently being reviewed by British police, according to BBC reports.
From 2001 to 2011, Andrew served as the U.K.’s trade envoy. During this tenure, the allegations suggest he may have relayed sensitive details about business opportunities and visits to key locations such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. His resignation from this position followed revelations of a visit to Epstein in New York after the financier’s release from prison in December 2010.

More scrutiny has arisen following the recent release of documents by the U.S. Department of Justice regarding Epstein. Both Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have faced criticism over their past ties to Epstein. A particularly controversial email from Ferguson to Epstein, dating back to March 2010, has drawn significant backlash. In it, Ferguson refers to her daughter, Princess Eugenie, in a casual manner that some have found inappropriate.
The email correspondence began with Epstein inquiring about a visit to New York, to which Ferguson responded, “Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a shagging weekend!!”

At the time of the email, Princess Eugenie was 19 years old and dating Jack Brooksbank, with whom she now shares two children. This exchange occurred just two years after Epstein pleaded guilty to solicitation of prostitution and procurement of a minor for prostitution in a Florida courtroom. He was later arrested again in July 2019 and found dead in his jail cell a month later.
