Police Searching East LA for Suspects in Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident
Fatal Hit-and-Run in East Los Angeles Leaves Pedestrian Dead
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. – A pedestrian was struck and killed late Monday night in East Los Angeles, prompting a search for three suspects involved in the incident, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The tragic event unfolded just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of East Olympic Boulevard and South Arizona Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered a man lying on the ground, surrounded by multiple vehicles. Emergency responders declared him dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported that three individuals in one vehicle stopped briefly to examine the victim. However, they left without offering assistance or notifying authorities. One suspect was last seen fleeing the area in a Kia, heading north on Olympic Boulevard.
Details remain limited regarding the other vehicles involved in the incident. While the Kia has been identified, a full description of the remaining vehicles has not been provided. Authorities have yet to identify either the victim or the three suspects who initially stopped.
It is also unclear whether the drivers of other vehicles present at the scene stayed to cooperate with the investigation or if they are being sought for questioning.
Moving forward, the CHP plans to review surveillance footage from nearby businesses along Olympic Boulevard in an effort to track the Kia’s movements. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to assist authorities in their investigation.
