Police Close Down Suspected Illegal Massage Parlor in Whittier

A massage parlor in Whittier has been closed as part of a city-wide investigation, according to authorities. The Whittier Police Department reported that detectives executed a search warrant at the establishment located in the 11100 block of Whittier Boulevard on Wednesday, prompted by concerns related to human trafficking.

Officers have classified the massage parlor as illicit, and it was shut down with assistance from the Whittier Code Enforcement team.

Kealey Medina, an employee at a nearby business, expressed her long-standing unease about the establishment. “We do see a lot of people coming in and out of the business. It’s a little bit suspicious because they do tend to enter through the back of the business, rather than the front,” Medina said. She added, “You really never know what the people in there are going through. They could be forced or something, so I’m glad that, you know, somebody called in.”

As the investigation continues, it remains unclear whether any arrests have been made.
