Peacock Announces New Summer Drama Series ‘Summer People’ from Emily Goldwyn and Bill Krebs
Peacock Develops New Drama Series ‘Summer People’
In an exclusive announcement, Peacock has entered development on Summer People, a new drama series created by Emily Goldwyn (SMILF, Emily in Paris) and Bill Krebs (Good Girls, Grosse Pointe Garden Society), in collaboration with Universal Television.
The series centers on three elite families and their nannies during a summer marked by a disturbing tragedy. While the incident is officially labeled an accident, suspicions arise that it may be a case of murder. One nanny is determined to uncover the truth before the glitz and privilege of summer life corrupt her judgment.
Goldwyn and Krebs will serve as executive producers, with Goldwyn taking on the role of writer for the pilot script. Should the project move forward as a series, Krebs will join Goldwyn as showrunner and co-writer.
Goldwyn has previously contributed as a writer and supervising producer on Emily in Paris, as well as writing for SMILF and Awkwafina is Nora From Queens. She is represented by UTA, Entertainment 360, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
Summer People marks a departure from Krebs’ longstanding collaboration with Jenna Bans, a partnership that continues to thrive. Most recently, Krebs co-created and co-showrun Grosse Pointe Garden Society, which aired for one season on NBC. Prior to that, he served alongside Bans on all four seasons of Good Girls. His extensive credits also include work on Red Band Society, Franklin & Bash, and Workaholics. Krebs is represented by UTA and Entertainment 360.
