Actor and producer Patrick Muldoon, renowned for his performances in daytime drama Day of Our Lives, primetime soap Melrose Place, and the film Starship Troopers, passed away abruptly this morning, April 19, due to a heart attack. He was 57.
Muldoon was born in San Pedro, California, and graduated from the University of Southern California, where he played for the Trojans football team.
He began his acting career while still in college, appearing in a two-episode arc on the sitcom Who’s the Boss? Following his graduation in 1991, he secured a recurring role on Saved By the Bell.
Muldoon is best known for originating the character Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, a role he portrayed from 1992 to 1995 and again from 2011 to 2012.
