A Mother-Daughter Vacation Takes an Unexpected Turn in Apple TV’s New Israeli Series ‘Unconditional’
A mother’s worst nightmare unfolds in the first trailer for Apple TV’s forthcoming Israeli series, Unconditional. The story begins with Orna (Liraz Chamami) waiting for a flight in Moscow, accompanied by her 23-year-old daughter Gali (Talia Lynne Ronn). Gali reassures her mother, saying, “Mom, everything will be okay.”
But the situation quickly deteriorates.
Just moments later, law enforcement officials arrest Gali on drug smuggling charges, plunging Orna into a dangerous world of crime and corruption as she fights to prove her daughter’s innocence. The full trailer is available for viewing above.
Produced by Adam Bizanski (Magpie) and Dana Idisis (On the Spectrum), the series will premiere on May 8, releasing two episodes that Friday. Following the initial launch, new episodes from the eight-part series will be available every Friday until June 19. In Israel, Unconditional is scheduled to debut on Keshet 12 later this month.
Apple TV acquired the series in February, a year after Keshet International introduced it at the London TV Screenings.
The cast features newcomer Ronn alongside Chamami (Bad Boy), Amir Haddad (La Belle et Le Boulanger), Yossi Marshek (Yellow Peppers), Evgenia Dodina (Invisible), and Vladimir Friedman (Bad Boy).
Bizanski serves as the writer, while Johnathan Gurfinkel directs the series. Produced for Keshet 12 by Spiro Films’ Eitan Mansuri and Jonathan Doweck, the executive producers include Bizanski, Idisis, Keshet Media Group’s Avi Nir, Keshet International’s Keren Shahar, and Keshet 12’s Karni Ziv, Yuval Horowitz, and Eze Sakson.
Kelly Wright, Keshet’s distribution head, described the show, filmed in India, Georgia, and Israel, as the Israeli group’s “most ambitious drama in terms of budget and scale.”
