Orange County Gymnastics Coach Arrested for Allegedly Committing Sex Acts with Minor
Investigators in Orange County are seeking additional victims following the arrest of a gymnastics coach accused of engaging in sexual acts with an underage girl. Jacob Alexander Demmin, 25, was taken into custody on Wednesday after the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Detail investigated allegations of grooming and an inappropriate sexual relationship with a minor.
According to the sheriff’s department, the victim reported that in 2021, while Demmin was employed at Firestorm Free Running and Acrobatics Gym in Santa Ana and Westminster, he groomed her and maintained inappropriate communication, culminating in a sexual relationship while she was still a minor.
The case has prompted renewed concerns, with officials stating that the victim reached out after discovering Demmin was still coaching minors. Currently, he is employed at Ultimate Ninjas Gym in Anaheim Hills.
Demmin has been booked into the Orange County Jail on multiple charges, including sodomy of a person under 18, contacting a minor with the intent to commit lewd acts, sexual penetration with a foreign object, and unlawful sex with a minor.
Given Demmin’s access to children through his coaching roles, investigators are exploring the possibility of additional victims. Authorities encourage anyone with information related to the case to contact 714-647-7419 or 714-647-7000. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
