Olivia Rodrigo Teams Up with a Devil in Prada for an Exciting SNL Promo
A chic, Prada-clad devil makes an appearance in this week’s episode of SNL, with no sign of Meryl Streep or Anna Wintour.
This week, Olivia Rodrigo takes on the dual role of host and musical guest, as James Austin Johnson steals the spotlight dressed as the fashionable fiend.
In the promotional clip, Rodrigo arrives at Studio 8-H to cheerful greetings from cast members Andrew Dismukes and Jane Wickline. However, the mood shifts when fellow cast member Tommy Brennan rushes in with a warning: “Hey guys! He’s on his way!”
As anticipation builds for the arrival of “Someone Big,” all eyes are on the door. Johnson then enters, donning a striking candy-apple-colored fur coat, and delivers a flawless homage to Streep’s iconic scene in The Devil Wears Prada. While Streep’s Miranda Priestly admonished Anne Hathaway’s Andrea Sachs for a comment about blue belts, Johnson critiques Rodrigo’s use of the term “skits.”
“These skits?” Johnson retorts, his silver bob shining. “I find it sort of comical that you think these ‘skits’ have nothing to do with you when, in fact, your entire career has been turned into sketches by the people in this very room.”
