Olivia Rodrigo Explores Europe in Exclusive Spotify Music Video for ‘Drop Dead’

Olivia Rodrigo has made waves online by sharing two versions of her music video for “Drop Dead.” The announcement came after a night of boredom in her bed, leading to the unexpected reveal.
Just a few days following the premiere of the official video for her lead single, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which showcased her playful moments at the Palace of Versailles, Rodrigo released a second video on April 20. This alternate version, available exclusively on Spotify, features her enjoying a Guinness in a London pub while exploring the city. Iconic landmarks such as Big Ben make an appearance as she films her journey to the train station, guitar case in tow.
Rodrigo’s destination is the stunning City of Love, where she performs her lyrics against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. “One night, I was bored in bed / And stalked you on the internet,” she sings. “It’s feminine intuition / ‘Cause I always had a vision of us standing like this / All pressed up in the bathroom line / You’re looking like an angel on the walls of Versailles.”
The release of “Drop Dead” and its official video on April 17 marks the beginning of a new era for Rodrigo as she prepares for her third studio album, set to debut in June. Her previous album, Guts, released in 2023, topped the Billboard 200.
The new visual comes at a time when YouTube announced it would be withdrawing its data from Billboard‘s charts. This decision means that views for “Drop Dead” on YouTube will not impact its ranking on the Billboard Hot 100 next week. To date, Rodrigo has achieved 30 entries on the chart, including three No. 1 hits: “Drivers License,” “Good 4 U,” and “Vampire.”
