Nurses at Providence Cedars-Sinai in Tarzana Plan to Go on Strike
Registered Nurses at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center Set to Strike
Registered nurses and licensed medical professionals at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center are slated to initiate a five-day strike starting Monday. Union representatives announced the action over the weekend, highlighting ongoing grievances regarding patient safety and working conditions.
Since July 2025, workers have been in negotiations with management to address a range of issues that they argue adversely affect both their well-being and patient care. Among the concerns raised are claims of inadequate staffing levels and environmental hazards within the facility.
While attempts to reach a resolution have been ongoing, representatives from Providence were not available for comment on Sunday regarding the impending strike.
Service Employees International Union Local 121RN officials confirmed that picket lines will be established daily from 7 a.m. to noon at the hospital, located at 18321 Clark St.
This strike is part of a broader pattern of labor actions across Southern California hospitals. Thousands of nurses at Kaiser Permanente facilities have been striking for several weeks, and over 3,000 pharmacy and lab employees concluded a three-day strike last week. Additionally, registered nurses at West Anaheim Medical Center are set to begin their own three-day strike on Tuesday.
