Nicola Peltz Responds to Brooklyn Beckham’s Accusation About Victoria’s Role in Her Wedding Dress Choice
Nicola Peltz Beckham Addresses Wedding Dress Controversy
Nicola Peltz Beckham has clarified the circumstances surrounding her wedding dress, directly addressing claims made by her husband Brooklyn Beckham. In a recent interview with Vogue, Nicola, 30, disputed Brooklyn’s assertion that her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, "canceled" the creation of her wedding gown. Instead, Nicola revealed that she had worked closely with Valentino’s former creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, for over a year to design her dress.
Leslie Fremar, Nicola’s stylist, detailed the extensive process, noting, “It was the ultimate couture experience,” which included two trips to Rome and fittings both there and in the U.S. Fremar emphasized the deliberate simplicity of the dress, stating, “We ended up eliminating the embroidery” to achieve its impressive impact.
Nicola supported Fremar’s account, describing it as "a no-brainer" to collaborate with Piccioli. "Seeing all the runway dresses in real life was so magical. It looked like someone’s dream closet," she expressed.
The actress previously indicated that she had intended to wear a Victoria Beckham design but had to pivot due to practical issues. “Victoria realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Nicola explained. “She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where [the rumors] started, and then they ran with that.”
In an effort to dispel any rumors about family tensions post-wedding, Brooklyn also recently commented on the relationship dynamics. He stated that his family gets along well with Nicola, reassuring fans, “Everyone gets along, which is good.”
The controversy resurfaced when Brooklyn took to Instagram on January 19, implying ongoing conflict with his family related to their wedding. He accused his parents of trying to undermine his relationship with Nicola, claiming that his mother canceled the wedding dress design at the last minute, which led to a rushed search for an alternative.
Moreover, Brooklyn described an uncomfortable incident during their wedding, suggesting that his mother “hijacked” his first dance, leaving him feeling humiliated. "I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life," he noted, articulating the need to renew their vows to create more joyful memories.
Reports from insiders at the wedding indicated confusion among guests regarding Nicola’s apparent distress over the dance with Brooklyn’s mother, stating that no one noticed her upset as she briefly left the room before returning for the afterparty.
Representatives for Victoria and David Beckham have been contacted for further comment on the evolving narrative.
