Nicholas Galitzine and Camila Mendes Gear Up in the New ‘Masters of the Universe’ Trailer: A Fresh Take on the Classic ’80s Toy Series
MGM and Mattel Unveil Full Trailer for “Masters of the Universe”
The first full trailer for the highly anticipated film adaptation of Masters of the Universe from MGM and Mattel has been released.
The movie features an impressive cast, including Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Charlotte Riley, alongside Kristen Wiig lending her voice to the character Roboto. Jared Leto and Idris Elba also play significant roles.
According to the film’s plot summary, after being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power guides Prince Adam (played by Galitzine) back to Eternia, where he finds his home devastated under Skeletor’s (Leto) malevolent regime. To rescue his family and restore his world, Adam must ally with his closest companions, Teela (Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Elba), and embrace his true identity as He-Man—the most powerful man in the universe.
In the trailer, Galitzine, sporting a blonde wig, is seen navigating his everyday life before being thrust into an epic battle set in the Masters of the Universe.
Travis Knight directs the film, which features a screenplay by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham. The story was developed by Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, Alex Litvak, and Michael Finch. The production team includes Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, Steve Tisch, and DeVon Franklin, while the executive producers are Ynon Kreiz, Bill Bannerman, and David Bloomfield.
The film is scheduled for theatrical release in the U.S. on June 5, distributed by Amazon MGM Studios and internationally by Sony Pictures International Releasing.
