Anticipation builds as Team Snoop and Team Niall prepare for the season 28 finale.
On Monday, December 8, coaches Snoop Dogg and Niall Horan made pivotal selections on The Voice, each choosing one contestant from their teams to compete in the finale next week.
Snoop, 54, initiated the decision-making process, expressing his gratitude to his remaining four contestants. “I feel honored to have you in my life,” he stated.
“This is merely the beginning. Thank you all for allowing me to be your coach,” he said to contestants Yoshihanaa, Ralph Edwards, Mindy Miller, and Toni Lorene.
Upon being prompted by host Carson Daly to reveal his choice, Snoop admitted, “My heart is pounding.” He further elaborated that his decision reflected “perseverance, showmanship, and the spirit of music.”

“So with that being said, Ralph,” he announced, later acknowledging Edwards’ “incredible voice.”
“I feel like he’s strong enough to deal with anybody on the other three teams,” Snoop continued. “I feel like the best team headed to the finals is definitely Team Snoop.”
Edwards expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s a dream come true to be this far in the live show. I’m getting yeses, and I don’t know what to do with them anymore.”
Next, Horan faced the difficult decision of choosing from contestants DEK of Hearts, Aiden Ross, Kirbi, and Ava Nat.
“Since I’ve been on this show, this is the best team across the board I’ve had, without a shadow of a doubt,” Horan, 32, remarked. “I loved working with all of you. I have to make a heart-wrenching decision, but I really hope America starts picking up that phone and voting for one of you guys, please.”
When it came time to announce his choice, Horan said it was based on “a catalogue of performances and what I know is coming down the road.”

The “This Town” singer concluded, “I think Aiden is the perfect person to represent Team Niall in the finale. He’s comfortable in his own voice — to think that this guy is only 20 years old and has that talent is frightening.”
Following the announcement, Ross expressed his gratitude, stating he felt “so thankful that Niall saw something in me.”
While Snoop and Horan have each confirmed their finalists, audiences voted on one of the remaining six contestants to join the finale. The additional finalist will be revealed on Monday, December 15.
In last week’s episode, coach Michael Bublé selected Jazz McKenzie, while coach Reba McEntire chose Aubrey Nicole as finalists.
