New ‘Evil Dead Burn’ Trailer Shows Deadites Disrupting a Family Get-Together in the Latest Installment of the Franchise
New Line has released the first trailer for *Evil Dead Burn*, the latest entry in the iconic horror franchise *Evil Dead*, set to hit theaters on July 10.
Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, known for the spider horror film *Infested*, *Evil Dead Burn* tells the story of a woman who, after losing her husband, seeks comfort with her in-laws at their remote family home. However, the family reunion takes a dark turn as the in-laws transform into Deadites, revealing that the vows taken in life endure even in death.
Warner Bros. unveiled the trailer for *Evil Dead Burn* following its initial footage presentation at last month’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The film follows *Evil Dead Rise*, directed by Lee Cronin, which unexpectedly saw a theatrical release in 2023, grossing approximately $147 million worldwide. Co-financed by New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures, the sequel is produced by long-time franchise producer Rob Tapert and series creator Sam Raimi, with executive producers including Romel Adam, Jose Cańas, Cronin, and Bruce Campbell, who is famed for his portrayal of Ash in the series.
Watch on Deadline
Warner Bros. will handle North American distribution for *Evil Dead Burn*, while StudioCanal will distribute in the UK, Metropolitan in France, and Sony will oversee other international territories. The *Evil Dead* franchise, created by Raimi, began with the 1981 film featuring Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, who battles various supernatural forces. The original film evolved into a trilogy and spurred the creation of the Starz TV series *Ash vs. Evil Dead*, along with several other projects over the years.
*Evil Dead Burn* features an ensemble cast that includes Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand, Maude Davey, George Pullar, and Greta Van Den Brink. This film is one of two upcoming *Evil Dead* projects, with the other titled *Evil Dead Wrath*, directed by Francis Galluppi and starring Charlotte Hope, Jessica McNamee, Zach Gilford, Josh Helman, Ella Newton, and Australian newcomer Ella Oliphant, along with Elizabeth Cullen.
