New Animated Musical ‘Brave Knight’ Features a Talented Cast; Lookbook Entertainment Showcases It at Cannes
EXCLUSIVE: Sydney Agudong, Skylar Astin, Meg Donnelly, Jordan Fisher, and Peyton List are set to lend their voices to the upcoming animated musical film, Brave Knight. The project is being presented to buyers at the Cannes market by Lookbook Entertainment.
Written and directed by Zachary Derek, Brave Knight follows three unlikely heroes in the medieval kingdom of Northumbria as they band together to thwart a royal conspiracy. When the king is afflicted by a mysterious illness, Prince Tristan embarks on a perilous quest, while his younger brother, William, who is neurodivergent and non-verbal, unearths the plot from home. Partnering with a magical stable girl named Alora and her brave ally Constance, William plays a crucial role in exposing the coup, demonstrating that compassion is the kingdom’s most powerful asset.
Donnelly and List are also in discussions to take on executive producer roles for the film.

Produced by Juan Pablo Reinoso alongside Derek, Kirsten Guenther, and Sharon Kenny, Brave Knight features original songs and a score by composers/lyricists Sharon Kenny and Kirsten Guenther. The duo is also working on an upcoming stage musical produced by Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door/The Carlson Company. Notably, Brave Knight is concurrently being developed into a stage musical.
“We set out to tell a story that feels both classic and deeply contemporary,” said Derek. “Brave Knight is about empathy, feeling seen, and the idea that strength can come from seeing the world differently. This is a story to show all kids — neurodivergent and neurotypical — that they have magic inside them.”
