Metro Bus Crashes into Backyard in Lake View Terrace
Two Injured in Lake View Terrace Bus Crash
Two individuals sustained injuries Wednesday when a Metro bus lost control and crashed into a backyard in Lake View Terrace, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Gladstone Avenue. Authorities reported that the driver attempted to restart the stalled bus, which unexpectedly took off without a driver. The runaway vehicle traveled down the street, colliding with several poles before ultimately crashing into a home’s backyard.
The bus involved in the incident was operating as eastbound Metro Bus Line 233 and reportedly experienced a mechanical failure. Metro noted that a tree fell onto a pedestrian during the crash.
At the time of the incident, there were no passengers on board the bus.
Emergency responders treated a 73-year-old man for injuries, while a 35-year-old received on-scene treatment.
