Merle Dandridge Joins the Cast as a Series Regular for Season 2 of USA Network’s ‘The Rainmaker’
EXCLUSIVE: Merle Dandridge, known for her roles in The Last of Us and Station 19, has been cast as a series regular in Season 2 of The Rainmaker, airing on USA Network. In this role, she will portray Amanda Vonn, a formidable attorney who offers Sarah (Madison Iseman) a new pathway to power while presenting a challenging opposition to Rudy (Milo Callaghan).
Based on John Grisham’s best-selling novel, The Rainmaker follows Rudy Baylor, a recent law school graduate, as he faces off against seasoned attorney Leo Drummond and navigates complications with his former law school girlfriend, Sarah. Joined by his boss Bruiser (Lana Parrilla) and her eccentric paralegal Deck (P. J. Byrne), Rudy uncovers two interconnected conspiracies linked to the mysterious death of their client’s son.
Produced by Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Television, The Rainmaker is helmed by showrunner Michael Seitzman, with Grisham, Patrick Moran, Jason Richman, David Gernert, and Jason Blum serving as executive producers.
Dandridge is well-recognized for her role as Marlene, the leader of the Fireflies, in HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us, as well as for her portrayal of Chief Ross in ABC’s Station 19. Her extensive credits also include Zarina Killebrew in Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told, the lead role of Grace Greenleaf in Oprah Winfrey’s Greenleaf, and Joana in the upcoming second season of Prime Video’s Citadel.
