Melissa Rivers Shares Her Thoughts on the Kardashian-Jenner Met Gala 2026 Fashion: Best to Worst Looks
Melissa Rivers Reviews Kardashian-Jenner Looks at 2026 Met Gala
Prominent television personality Melissa Rivers recently shared her insights into the fashion choices of the Kardashian-Jenner family at the Met Gala 2026, expressing that they perfectly captured the event’s theme, "Costume Art." In an exclusive interview, Rivers remarked, “They got the memo.”
The Met Gala, held on May 4, featured Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Kris Jenner on the red carpet, all of whom, according to Rivers, “understood” the theme. Rivers singled out Kylie Jenner for her striking ensemble, stating, “So I think [the] best of them was Kylie in the Schiaparelli.” At 28, Kylie dazzled in a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture creation, which included a nude top merging seamlessly into a flowing white gown, creating the illusion that the gown was draping off her body. Rivers praised Kylie’s outfit as “spectacular” and reflective of the art of fashion.
Rivers also admired Kendall Jenner’s gown, crafted by Zac Posen, noting its cream color and asymmetrical corset design. She emphasized that the designer described the look as “Hellenic, which is Grecian, that bone color.”
Additionally, Rivers pointed out a commonality in their outfits, saying the family members were “rocking that Skims nipple thing,” referencing Kendall’s unique design featuring a cup style that highlighted one side.
Concluding her rankings, Rivers placed Kylie first, followed by Kendall, Kris, and then Kim. Kardashian, 45, made her mark in a sculptural copper dress but showcased additional outfits prepared in collaboration with British artist Allen Jones and the design duo Whitaker Malem Creative. Though Rivers acknowledged Kardashian’s stunning aesthetic, she observed, “I hate saying predictable, but we saw a lot of the body sculpted … that kind of thing,” ultimately stating that her younger sisters outshined her on the night.
Kris Jenner, 70, also made a memorable impact with a floor-length Dolce & Gabbana robe. Rivers commented on Kris’s look, suggesting it was “more interesting than Kim’s,” although she recognized the artistic craftsmanship behind Kardashian’s design, which drew inspiration from the 1960s.
In summary, Rivers affirmed, “But I think it’s gonna be hard for anyone to get past Kim and Kylie and Kendall this year,” underscoring the significant impression made by the Kardashian-Jenner sisters at the iconic event.
