A Look at the Season 2 Trailer for ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’: Emma Myers’ Pip Faces a New Mystery
"A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder" Season 2 Unveils Intriguing New Mystery
The highly anticipated Season 2 trailer for A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder introduces fans to Emma Myers as Pip Fitz-Amobi, the determined detective who previously cracked the Andie Bell case. The second season, based on Holly Jackson’s trilogy—specifically the second book, Good Girl, Bad Blood—is set to premiere on Netflix on May 27. This season will consist of six episodes, each approximately 45 minutes long.
In this new chapter, Pip is attempting to move past the complexities of her previous investigations. Following the fallout from her work on Andie Bell’s disappearance and Sal Singh’s murder, she intends to steer clear of further mysteries. However, as the trial of Max Hastings (portrayed by Henry Ashton) looms closer and the sudden disappearance of Connor Reynolds’ brother Jamie (Eden H Davies) unfolds, Pip finds herself unwittingly pulled into a new case. “I’m ready for this to be over. No more murder,” she notes in a podcast recording, a sentiment soon disrupted by Ravi Singh (Zain Iqbal), who frightens her with a familiar greeting.
The narrative progresses when Morgan-Collier’s Connor Reynolds reveals at Pip’s doorstep that Jamie is missing. “Welcome to Season Two of ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder: The Disappearance of Jamie Reynolds,” Pip records, emphasizing the urgency surrounding Jamie’s situation, who is a key witness in Hastings’ trial.
Henry Ashton’s character, Max Hastings, is shown first in a colorful hoodie and later in a formal suit for his court appearance, highlighting the duality of his character as the trial unfolds. “What evidence do you have, Pip? It’s your word against mine,” he challenges.
Returning to support Pip’s efforts is Asha Banks as her friend Cara, alongside Yali Topol Margalith and Freddie England, who take on the roles of Lauren and Robin Hastings.
As Pip grapples with the growing tension, she remarks, “Someone knows what happened to Jamie, and they’re trying to warn me off.” This line underscores the escalating stakes in the investigation. Lauren responds skeptically, “Not everything is a conspiracy, Pip.” The narrative further intensifies when Pip expresses her frustrations regarding police protocols that seem to hinder the search.
The trailer culminates in a high-speed car chase, culminating with Pip in a distressing moment of duality, suggesting the psychological toll her quest for truth takes on her.
Season 2 is crafted by Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan, with an experienced team of executive producers, including Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins, and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures, as well as Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton, and Katherine Bond for the BBC.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will be available globally on Netflix, with specific exclusions for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where it will be shown exclusively on ZDFneo. In the UK and Ireland, the series will launch on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, while Australian viewers will access it through Stan.
