Meghan Trainor Reflects on Quitting Coffee "Cold Turkey"
In a recent interview, Meghan Trainor shared her experience of quitting coffee, a decision she credits with transforming her energy levels. The pop star revealed that her decision was influenced by a psychic consultation attended by her husband, Daryl Sabara.
The 31-year-old singer discussed her upcoming Get in Girl Tour and new single, "Still Don’t Care," during her conversation. Trainor explained that after Sabara visited the psychic, she learned that her coffee consumption was adversely affecting her health.
"The psychic never met me. My husband was gifted a session with her and she said, ‘Your wife is using coffee like speed. She’s non-stop and it’s not helping her and she’s just crashing out,’" Trainor noted.
Upon hearing this, she decided to quit coffee immediately, realizing that her reliance on it was unsustainable. "I was drinking it all day to just survive and be steady," she admitted. "Then I would crash and be buzzing at night to sleep."
Trainor described feeling unwell despite maintaining a healthy lifestyle and regular workouts. "I wasn’t feeling great. And I was like, ‘I don’t understand. I eat so healthy, I work out. Why do I feel like this?’" she said. It was only after she recognized that she was overworking herself that she fully understood the root of her problems.
Although the transition was challenging, she reported that giving up coffee resulted in a "tough week," ultimately leading to her feeling "more energy than ever." "It was life-changing," she stressed.
As the Get in Girl Tour approaches, set to kick off in June 2026, Trainor plans to maintain her relentless pace, stating, "No sleep, power through and thrive."
"I will do the show. We get up at 7 a.m. because the kids get up at 7 a.m. and then we go find an amusement park or a museum. They love children’s museums… then we eat lunch together, I do a soundcheck, we have early dinner so that I don’t burp on stage," she explained.
Trainor also expressed the chaotic nature of her pre-show routine, where she juggles family responsibilities while preparing for performances. "There’s four of us on two kids trying to get them in a bath that we unfold to put in this shower. It’s chaos," she remarked.
Reflecting on her daily life on tour, she added, "Then once they’re good to go, we walk them to the bus and they go to bed. And then I do the show and I get to sleep at about 11 or midnight. And then we get up and it’s Groundhog Day and we do it all over again."
The Get in Girl Tour is set to support Trainor’s forthcoming album, Toy with Me, scheduled for release on April 24, 2026. The new single, "Still Don’t Care," was released on November 12.
