Zachery Ty Bryan Arrested Again
Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role on Home Improvement, was arrested on Saturday, November 29, in Eugene, Oregon. He was charged with violating probation stemming from a previous domestic violence conviction, marking his sixth arrest in five years. Bryan is currently held without bail at Lane County Jail and is scheduled for release on December 3.
His fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was also taken into custody on the same day. She faces five charges, including DUI, three counts of reckless endangerment, and one count of attempted first-degree assault. Cartwright remains in custody as of November 30.
It remains unclear whether either Bryan or Cartwright has legal representation to comment on this situation.

Bryan’s most recent arrest follows a January incident where he faced second-degree domestic violence charges in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Police reports indicated that a woman—who reportedly shares children with Bryan—accused him of choking and assaulting her.
The charges against Bryan are part of a troubling pattern. He has encountered various legal issues over the past several years, including two DUI arrests in 2024 and earlier charges of fourth-degree felony assault and robbery in 2023. He was sentenced to seven days in jail for a felony assault in that case.
Bryan’s probation from these earlier charges is not set to expire until October 2026, adding further complications to his current legal troubles.
In the backdrop of this scrutiny, Cartwright has publicly supported Bryan, expressing a desire for privacy for their family as they navigate these challenges. She acknowledged the difficulties associated with trauma in her public comments.
