Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their inaugural appearance at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, leading up to the premiere of their latest documentary, Cookie Queens, on January 24.
During the festival, the Duke and Duchess attended a special screening of their film, which chronicles the experiences of four Girl Scouts as they navigate the challenges of the cookie-selling season. The documentary highlights themes of ambition, teamwork, and personal growth. The royal couple posed for photographs with Amy Redford, daughter of the late Robert Redford.
This outing comes just days after Prince Harry provided emotional testimony in London regarding his ongoing legal case against Associated Newspapers Limited, the publisher of the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday.

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, are executive producers of the 91-minute film, which is featured in the Sundance Family Matinee category. Directed by Alysa Nahmias, the documentary is produced in collaboration with Archewell Productions, Beautiful Stories, and AJNA Films.
The project holds special significance for Meghan, who was a Girl Scout in California and had her mother as a troop leader. Reflecting on her childhood in an April 2025 Instagram post promoting her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan wrote, “Being an entrepreneur can start young,” alongside photos of herself selling cookies.
This appearance at Sundance follows Harry’s return to London for a critical stage in his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited. He is one of seven high-profile claimants, including Elizabeth Hurley and Elton John, alleging unlawful information gathering by the media group. The publisher denies these accusations.
On January 21, Harry gave emotional testimony in court, discussing the toll that the legal battle and years of media scrutiny have taken on his family. “By standing up here and taking a stand against them, this has continued to come after me,” he shared, his voice breaking. “And they have made my wife’s life an absolute misery.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s involvement in Cookie Queens was announced in December 2025, marking their latest professional achievement with the Sundance premiere.
