- Shatravia “Toni” Toney and Antonio Brown welcomed their son, Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Malachi Toney, in 2007.
- Antonio was also an athlete, playing in the NFL from 2003 to 2005.
- Malachi credits his dedication to his mother, a postal worker.
Malachi Toney, at just 18 years old, has made a notable impact on college football as a wide receiver for the University of Miami Hurricanes. Recently named the ACC Rookie of the Year, Malachi is preparing to lead his team against the Indiana Hoosiers on January 19 at the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Shatravia “Toni” Toney, Malachi’s mother, has been a steadfast supporter throughout his football journey, ensuring that his practice and game commitments were a priority. Meanwhile, Malachi has inherited athletic prowess from his father, Antonio Brown, who also had a brief professional career in the NFL.
Antonio played three seasons in the NFL between 2003 and 2005, but should not be confused with another NFL player named Antonio Brown, who had a much longer career spanning 12 seasons.

Malachi’s path follows closely in his father’s footsteps. Antonio Brown played as a wide receiver in the NFL for three seasons, starting with the Buffalo Bills in 2003 and later joining the Washington Redskins, now known as the Washington Commanders, in 2004 and 2005.

Toni has played an active role in shaping Malachi’s football career. She was involved in his decision to sign with NETWORK, a growing sports and marketing agency. “We wanted an agency that would advocate for Malachi while also allowing him to grow,” she explained.
As a dedicated sports parent, Toni emphasized the importance of hard work and commitment, even foregoing celebrations for Malachi’s 18th birthday to prioritize his practice schedule. “If he has practice, he has to go to practice. That’s always been a thing I’ve stood on,” she stated.
