Meet the Orange County Jeweler Creating the Dodgers’ Iconic Chains
The Jeweler Behind the Dodgers’ Iconic Chains
FULLERTON, Calif. — The Los Angeles Dodgers weren’t the only ones making a statement during the World Series; the dazzling custom jewelry worn by the team also captured attention. A family-run business in Orange County, Happy Jewelers, provided the standout pieces, including the now-famous Dodger Blue necklace worn by World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Yamamoto sported a custom 14-karat solid gold necklace featuring white gold and blue sapphires throughout the series. "This was a necklace that everybody was talking about," said Gabe Arik, co-owner of Happy Jewelers. "We do have them in stock because a lot of people are calling us literally from worldwide. Like people are ordering these from Japan."
Some buyers expressed interest in owning a piece of Dodgers history, while others hoped the necklace would bring them good luck. For Yamamoto, the necklace held a personal significance. "He always told his buddies, his teammates, that’s like his lucky chain, lucky chart. As everybody knows, baseball players are very superstitious," Arik noted, sharing that Yamamoto wore the necklace during every game he pitched.
Yamamoto first discovered Happy Jewelers through his teammate Kiké Hernandez, who has several pieces from the shop. During the 2025 season, Hernandez allowed the jewelers creative freedom, leading to the design of a double-strand necklace accented with ruby. "We came up with the double row. The double row one is really neat because we could put different shades of colors," Arik explained, reflecting on the demand that surged after the World Series when the items quickly sold out.
Looking ahead, Happy Jewelers is gearing up for future seasons and receiving more custom requests. The shop has stated that its tennis necklaces are made to order, with production taking up to three weeks depending on inventory.
