Food Network Reveals Cast for Season 30 of Worst Cooks in America: Reality Check
Food Network has officially announced the cast for the highly anticipated 30th season of Worst Cooks in America, titled Reality Check. The show will feature ten notable television personalities as they face off in a culinary challenge that aims to elevate their kitchen skills under the guidance of chefs Jeff Mauro and Tiffany Derry.
The new season is set to debut on Sunday, January 4, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
This roster of contestants includes:
- Lisa Barlow (The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City)
- Downtown Julie Brown (MTV VJ)
- Val Chmerkovskiy (Dancing with the Stars)
- Reza Farahan (Shahs of Sunset and The Valley: Persian Style)
- Amara La Negra (Love & Hip Hop: Miami and Univision’s Desiguales)
- Ryan Lochte (Olympic swimmer)
- Manila Luzon (RuPaul’s Drag Race)
- Romeo Miller (rapper/actor)
- Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven)
- CT Tamburello (The Challenge and The Traitors USA)
Betsy Ayala, Head of Content for Food at Warner Bros. Discovery, remarked on the season’s challenges, stating, “The kitchen is not where this season’s celebrity recruits shine – but Jeff and Tiffany are determined to change that. Worst Cooks is where comedy and cooking chaos collide, but in the end, there are some impressive culinary transformations that will blow our audience away.”
In this season’s format, Mauro and Derry will assess the contestants’ initial culinary abilities through a baseline challenge, where the celebrities will prepare dishes worthy of the red carpet. The main dish challenge will introduce them to the flavors of bold and spicy Piri Piri chicken. The least successful participants will face a blind elimination cook-off, where only one will move forward in the competition.
The season finale, scheduled for Sunday, February 1, will see the two most improved contestants create a three-course restaurant-quality meal for guest judges. The winner will receive $25,000 to donate to charity, along with the prestigious bragging rights for their team leader.
