Matt LeBlanc’s Cop Drama ‘Flint’ Moves Forward with New Developments, Plus More on ‘I Know Who You Are’ and Comedy ‘Hilda! In Lights’ at CBS
CBS has announced the establishment of a development room for Flint, a new drama featuring Matt LeBlanc, who will also serve as an executive producer. Alongside Flint, two additional projects, the forensic drama I Know Who You Are and the comedy Hilda! In Lights, have progressed beyond the pilot script stage, each receiving orders for two additional scripts.
Flint, penned by 24 veteran Evan Katz, stars LeBlanc as a disillusioned LAPD detective on the brink of retirement. Just a week away from leaving the force, he is unexpectedly informed that his retirement has been delayed by five years. Intent on getting himself fired to access his pension earlier, he begins to flout regulations and disrespect authority figures. Ironically, this reckless behavior enhances his effectiveness as a detective.
In addition to LeBlanc, the project is being executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer TV.
If Flint comes to fruition, it will represent LeBlanc’s debut in a dramatic role. This venture marks his return to CBS, where he previously starred in the 2016 sitcom Man With a Plan. LeBlanc was last seen in the 2021 Friends reunion.
I Know Who You Are is crafted by Corinne Kingsbury, the creator of CW’s In the Dark. The series revolves around a brilliant forensic genealogist who returns to the police force and her former partner, utilizing DNA technology to uncover buried secrets and tackle challenging cases. The show is inspired by Barbara Rae-Venter’s memoir of the same name.
Executive producers for I Know Who You Are include Barbara Rae-Venter, Sharon Levy, and Lisa Fahrenholt for Endemol Shine North America, along with Philly De Lacey for Screentime New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Hilda! In Lights, written and executive produced by Abbey Caldwell, tells the story of a spirited 70-year-old woman named Hilda who moves from a small town to the big city in pursuit of her dreams. The project aims to embrace the classic narrative of personal ambition with a unique twist.
Executive producers Will Graham, Max Linsky, and Tonia Davis are also involved with Hilda! In Lights.
