Marco Chimenz Announces New Role in Italy’s MIA Market After Leaving the Federation
Italian film and television veteran Marco Chimenz has joined Italy’s audiovisual MIA market as Strategic Consultant, just days after stepping down as co-managing director of Federation Studios.
His appointment was announced in a joint statement by Alessandro Usai and Chiara Sbarigia, the presidents of Italian cinema organizations ANICA and APA, who oversee the upcoming market set to take place in Rome this October.
The statement emphasized that Chimenz’s involvement comes at a time when the event is revamping its format to better align with global industry developments.

“We are very pleased to have promptly reached out to Marco as soon as we learned of his departure from Federation, before he took on another major corporate role,” the presidents remarked.
They expressed confidence that his extensive international experience, enthusiasm, and strategic vision would allow him to excel in this role, enhancing the 2026 edition of MIA—the only national industry event dedicated to all genres of cinema and the audiovisual sector.
Prior to his tenure at Federation, Chimenz was a founding partner of Cattleya, alongside Riccardo Tozzi and Giovanni Stabilini, and he led the company from 1999 until 2023, managing its sale to the British group ITV Studios.
