The Boygenius member remarked that the duo selected a song they both cherished before delivering the poignant indie pop ballad from the Magnetic Fields’ 1999 album, *69 Love Songs*. This track was later covered by Peter Gabriel on his 2010 album *Scratch My Back*.
The third edition of Mustafa’s Artists for Aid also featured performances from notable artists including Shawn Mendes, Clairo, Faye Webster, Blood Orange, Jazmine Sullivan, and Geese. Additional performers included Noname, Daniel Caesar, 070 Shake, Rayvn Lenae, Omar Apollo, and Mustafa.
The inaugural Artists for Aid benefit was held in New Jersey in 2024, followed by a second event in London last July. This year’s Los Angeles concert, hosted by actor Pedro Pascal and model Bella Hadid, aimed to generate funds for the Sudanese American Physicians Association and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
“A gratitude unfeigned for all these artists who have agreed to donate their time & voices to this, the journey here has not been a simple one,” Mustafa expressed on Instagram when announcing the event last November.
