Lizzo Celebrates New Year with a Fun Look in a White Bikini and Personal Reflections on Her Journey
Lizzo Showcases Confidence in New Year’s Instagram Post
In her inaugural post of 2026, Lizzo flaunted her figure in a stunning Instagram carousel, marking the beginning of the year with style. The 37-year-old singer, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, donned a white bikini complemented by a vibrant blue manicure and a collection of rings. The swimwear is believed to be from her own line, Yitti.
In a subsequent photograph, Lizzo was seen in a colorful, boatneck bodysuit by Pucci, paired with white sunglasses and statement earrings, all while her new single "DITTO" played in the background. She captioned the post, “YITTY & a Pucci fit… nastyyyyy 😜,” receiving enthusiastic responses from fellow celebrities including Paris Hilton, who commented "😍," and Sza, who added, “YEAAAAA.”
Lizzo has been open about her journey toward better health, revealing in November that she faced severe depression and suicidal thoughts before resolving to prioritize her well-being. “I started losing weight in the fall of 2023. I was severely depressed. I had been the subject of vicious scandal, and it felt like the whole world turned its back on me. I became deeply suicidal,” she wrote in a Substack post. She acknowledged that her struggles with mental health compelled her to distance herself from friends and family.
The “scandal” she referenced involved a lawsuit filed against her by three former backup dancers in 2023, claiming sexual and religious harassment, among other allegations, which she has denied. Lizzo described how this period impacted her, stating, “I couldn’t trust anyone,” and though she noticed some weight loss, it was unintentional. She now views her weight loss process as a release rather than a loss.
One month after her candid revelations, Lizzo returned to Instagram, sharing images of herself in a vibrant yellow swimsuit adorned with a black snakeskin print, addressing body-shamers with a powerful message. “Today I saw a fat joke about me — in 2025 — and it was viral. It was a dumb joke, and they were just laughing at me because I’m fat,” she expressed. “Let me be a reminder to everyone to NEVER let anyone shame you for what you choose to do with your body…your body will never be good enough for them because it’s not FOR them. It’s for you.”
Her declaration concluded with an unapologetic stance: “If I get a BBL mind ur business, if I lose 100lbs mind ur business, if I gain every pound back and then some… mind ur f***ing business.” She confidently affirmed, “Anyways… my fat ass stays living with a paid-off mortgage in y’all bitches’ heads. 🥱”
Messages of support poured in from fans and fellow artists alike. Trisha Paytas praised her, stating, “U look insanely amazing 😍 people don’t want to see anyone doing good these days 🙌.” Another follower chimed in, “You are beautiful in every way, inside and out. ❤️🔥👏🏾.”
As Lizzo continues to navigate her personal and professional journey, she remains a vocal advocate for body positivity and mental health awareness.
