Lisa Ann Walter has expressed regret over not fully appreciating her body during her youth. The actress shared her reflections during an exclusive interview at the Avatar: Fire and Ash world premiere on December 1 in Hollywood.
In her conversation, Walter discussed the perception of beauty in past decades, noting the complexities of body image during the 1990s. “It’s so weird. The ‘90s were a weird time for women,” said Walter, now 62. She recalled her figure at that time, stating, “I was 36-24-36. I was like hot … But back then, I didn’t think of myself as that. I thought of myself as ‘cute for a comic,’ and I should have just been … I should have done Playboy. That’s what I should have done!”
Adding a touch of humor, she remarked on a phase of her life where she was “very blonde” and “solidly tramped it up.”

Walter, known for her roles in films such as The Parent Trap and Bruce Almighty, is currently filming season five of her acclaimed comedy series, Abbott Elementary.
During her interview, Walter emphasized that promoting the series is effortless due to her belief in its quality. “It’s not a chore when you go out and you get to talk about a show that you would genuinely enjoy as a viewer. I really like the show. I think it’s funny. It’s not hard for me to drum up something to say about it because I think it does something good in this world,” she commented, highlighting the close-knit nature of the cast and crew.

Looking ahead, Walter teased upcoming episodes, stating, “Golly, there’s a couple that we just shot that were a bit of a game changer for several episodes. I would get in trouble with creator and star Quinta [Brunson] if I told you exactly what it was, but it has to do with [the character] Jacob.”
The cast of Abbott Elementary received a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2023 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Additionally, the series won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series — Comedy or Musical that same year.
