In a recent appearance on the U.K. talk show The Graham Norton Show, Laura Dern entertained viewers with stories about pop star Taylor Swift while sitting beside Swift’s former partner, Tom Hiddleston. The episode, which aired on December 31, prompted a mix of hilarity and subtle tension among the audience.
When host Graham Norton highlighted Dern’s friendship with Swift, he teased her about being recognized primarily as the singer’s friend. Dern humorously confirmed this notion and recounted an amusing family vacation in Hawaii. During the trip, she and her children anticipated being swarmed with fans after encountering a Jurassic Park attraction, in which Dern starred in the 1993 film.

“I told my young kids, ‘this is going to be a nightmare for mom, guys,’” Dern recounted with a chuckle. As she described the experience, she recalled three enthusiastic teenagers rushing towards her, exclaiming, "Oh my god! You’re the girl in the Taylor Swift video!" This prompted laughter from the audience and Hiddleston, who was visibly amused yet slightly uncomfortable.
Commenters on the show’s YouTube channel quickly noted the awkwardness of the moment, with remarks highlighting Hiddleston’s expression during the exchange. One viewer wrote, “He looks damned uncomfortable on that couch,” while another chimed in, “poor Tom,” echoing the sentiment of many.
Although their relationship was short-lived, Swift and Hiddleston, who were often dubbed "HiddleSwift," shared a whirlwind romance that included several trips to Swift’s homes in Rhode Island and Nashville as well as Hiddleston’s native England. The couple broke up in September 2016, just weeks after Swift ended her relationship with music producer Calvin Harris.
Despite the brief nature of their romance, Hiddleston maintained a positive perspective, asserting in a 2017 GQ interview that their relationship was genuine. "Of course it was real," he stated, praising Swift as "an amazing woman" and recalling fond memories of their time together.
