As the show approaches its final week, notable guest stars have been announced, including Jon Stewart, Steven Spielberg, and Bruce Springsteen.
On Monday, May 18, Colbert plans to reflect on the “Worst” moments of the show, emphasizing that it will “not be a clip show.”
Tuesday’s episode, May 19, will feature The Daily Show host Jon Stewart and filmmaker Steven Spielberg, culminating in a special performance by David Byrne alongside Colbert.
On Wednesday, May 20, Colbert will present “The Colbert Questionert,” showcasing various special guests, with Bruce Springsteen scheduled to perform.

The series finale of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is set for Thursday, May 21.
The end of the show comes amid Skydance’s acquisition of Paramount, following Colbert’s controversial remarks referring to the CBS parent company as a “big fat bribe” in a lawsuit with Donald Trump. The merger is expected to finalize a month after the announcement of the show’s conclusion.
In a statement, CBS noted, “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert will end its historic run in May 2026 at the end of the broadcast season. We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise at that time. We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late-night television.”
Following After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson, Comics Unleashed has been airing at 12:35 a.m. and will shift to 11:35 p.m. for the 2026-27 season as part of an expanded time-buy agreement, taking the slot currently occupied by The Late Show. Hosted by Allen, the roundtable-style comedy talk show has featured prominent comedians such as Sebastian Maniscalco, Tiffany Haddish, Gabriel Iglesias, Cedric the Entertainer, and Nate Bargatze.
