LAPD Investigates Possible Shooting Incident at Cypress Park School
LOS ANGELES – An intense search is currently underway following reports of armed suspects entering Florence Nightingale Middle School in Cypress Park on Thursday afternoon.
Just before 2:30 p.m., officials from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the school, located in the 3000 block of North Figueroa Street at the intersection of Cypress Avenue, and placed it on lockdown. The lockdown was prompted after multiple 911 calls were made reporting possible gunfire in the area.
LAPD officials confirmed that, although armed suspects were inside the school, no shots were fired and there have been no reported injuries. As of now, the suspects remain at large.
Aerial footage captured by SkyFOX showed officers conducting a thorough search, moving from door to door in an effort to locate the individuals involved.
Further details regarding the incident have not yet been released.
