Lakewood Resident Claims Delivery Driver Took Her Cat

Investigation Launched into Alleged Theft of Lakewood Cat by Delivery Driver

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. – A criminal investigation is underway following the alleged theft of a family cat, Piper, by a delivery driver in Lakewood.

The incident, which took place on December 11 around 6:15 p.m., was captured on grainy doorbell camera footage showing the driver leaving the scene with Piper. Diane, the cat’s owner, reported the case to Amazon, which responded by stating that the driver was a third-party contractor, not directly affiliated with the company.

Piper holds significant emotional value for Diane and her family. "My husband passed away in an accident, and we got her two months prior to that," Diane shared. "She’s been a source of comfort, especially for the kids. She’s kind of that lasting connection to him."

Since her disappearance, Piper has remained missing, and as of December 16, there have been no updates regarding her whereabouts. The investigation continues as the family hopes for a resolution.
