In a recent interview, Lady Gaga expressed her conviction that if humanity can achieve monumental feats like landing a man on the moon, we should also be able to develop an all-encompassing concealer. She raised a pertinent question: with today’s advancements in technology, why does it remain challenging to find a concealer that effectively blurs, brightens, and enhances the texture of the under-eye area?
As a 13-time Grammy Award winner turned beauty entrepreneur, Gaga is on a mission to tackle this long-standing issue with Haus Labs’ latest product, the Triclone™ Skin Tech Hydrating + Depuffing Concealer.
“We knew that the concealer had to be special because it had to be the little sister of our foundation, but it had to take your foundation look to the next level and make it even better — not do anything that was going to make you look cakey or overdone,” Gaga shared during a Zoom conversation last week. “How could we expand the experience of complexion at Haus Labs in a way that stays true to our philosophy of taking care of your skin while you’re wearing makeup?”
The solution, according to Gaga, is a longwear concealer that promises to blur and depuff the skin while improving its appearance over time. This is made possible through a combination of skincare ingredients, including niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and fermented arnica. Mirroring the company’s successful foundation line, the Triclone concealer will be accessible in 31 shades spanning across six color families.
“I am a huge fan of Haus Labs’ Triclone Skin Tech foundation, so I had high hopes for this concealer,” commented one reviewer. “It’s a true concealer that can cover blemishes, hyperpigmentation, or redness effortlessly, leaving a comfortable and seamless finish.”
Further addressing her vision for the product, Gaga emphasized the importance of creating a concealer that simultaneously benefits the skin while providing coverage. “This concealer must brighten, conceal, and blur fine lines, while also treating your skin,” she stated. “We’ve incorporated 21 ingredients from our foundation to ensure it not only looks amazing but is also beneficial.”
Additionally, she revealed the concealer’s unique attribute of containing biotech caffeine derived from Ayurvedic medicine, which she claims visibly reduces puffiness under the eyes within two weeks of use.
Gaga’s dedication to performance and artistry shines through in her testing process for the concealer, where she evaluates it under a variety of conditions. “I make sure it performs well with moisturizer, in different lighting, and through various activities,” she explained. “It can be worn alone, under foundation, or with powder.”
In her daily beauty routine, Gaga emphasized the importance of proper skincare before makeup application. She detailed her regimen, which includes toners, serums, and moisturizer with sunscreen, followed by her concealer application for a natural, radiant finish.
Reflecting on her perspective on aging, Gaga acknowledged the societal pressures to maintain youthfulness. “Self-love is complicated, especially as we grow older,” she remarked. “Makeup serves as a powerful tool for me to confront insecurities and express myself. It’s about enhancing what I love about myself rather than hiding it.”
The Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + Depuffing Concealer will be available on Hauslabs.com and in Sephora stores worldwide starting on September 7.
