KPop Demon Hunters Star Ji-young Yoo Will Join the Cast of Apple TV’s Presumed Innocent Season 2
Ji-young Yoo Joins Second Season of Apple TV’s Presumed Innocent
Ji-young Yoo, known for her roles in KPop Demon Hunters and Expats, has been cast in a recurring role for the second season of Apple TV’s series Presumed Innocent.
Yoo will join a prominent cast led by star and executive producer Rachel Brosnahan, alongside Matthew Rhys, Courtney B. Vance, Fiona Shaw, Jack Reynor, John Magaro, Michael Hsu Rosen, and Lesley-Ann Brandt.
Presumed Innocent is created by David E. Kelley, who also serves as co-showrunner and executive producer. The series, reimagined by Kelley, delves into themes of obsession, love, sex, and politics as the main character struggles to maintain his family and marriage amidst serious allegations.
The upcoming season draws inspiration from Dissection of a Murder, a debut legal thriller novel by Jo Murray. Specific plot details remain undisclosed.
Season 1, which starred Jake Gyllenhaal, was influenced by Scott Turow’s courtroom thriller of the same name. It depicts a disturbing murder that shakes the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office when one of its own is implicated. The original book, published in 1987, was adapted into a feature film in 1990, featuring Harrison Ford in the role now played by Gyllenhaal.
Presumed Innocent is produced by Bad Robot Productions and David E. Kelley Productions, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television. Kelley will continue serving as showrunner for the second season, alongside Erica Lipez. Executive producers include J.J. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich for Bad Robot, with Kelley and Matthew Tinker also taking on executive producer roles. Dustin Thomason will also serve as an executive producer, alongside Scott Turow, who co-executive produces.
Ji-young Yoo is represented by the Gersh Agency, Entertainment 360, and Del Shaw Moonves.
