Key Points
- Khloé Kardashian criticized “gross commentary” regarding Tristan Thompson’s brother Amari attending dance classes.
- “Last time I posted Amari in his dance class, I heard some ridiculous commentary about, ‘How is this dance? Does he even know what’s going on?’” she shared on Instagram Stories.
- The reality star has taken on the role of primary caretaker for Amari, who suffers from Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, after the passing of Andrea Thompson, Tristan’s mother.
On December 13, Khloé Kardashian responded to negative remarks on social media regarding videos of her taking Amari, 19, to dance classes. The comments, which questioned Amari’s understanding of dance, prompted Kardashian to address the issue directly on her Instagram Stories.
“Last time I posted Amari in his dance class, I heard some ridiculous commentary about, ‘How is this dance? Does he even know what’s going on?’” Kardashian stated. “All of this gross commentary that I don’t need, no one needs. So if you don’t know or if you have never had someone with special needs in your life and you don’t know what their interests are and what makes them happy, don’t comment.”
Kardashian added, “And if you don’t like this type of content, you don’t have to watch it. We’re all good over here.”

Kardashian later shared a joyful video of Amari dancing to “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical during his class at Carousel Dance Studio. She also posted a photo of Amari with his instructors, praising their efforts.
“It’s so beautiful and it’s so special, and these kids are so happy. I don’t know how someone could cry being in these classes,” she emphasized. “It’s so beautiful.”
Kardashian has explained her decision to become Amari’s primary caretaker following the death of Andrea Thompson in January 2023. “For those who don’t know, Tristan has a younger brother who is 18 years old, and he is severely disabled,” she stated during a podcast episode earlier this year. “He can’t walk or talk. He’s never been able to talk.”

Following Andrea’s passing, Kardashian explained that the family took Amari from Canada back to the United States, where she has taken responsibility for his care. “Since Tristan has a busy NBA schedule, I’ve chosen to take care of Amari and love having him be a part of my family,” she said.
Kardashian reflected on her long-standing relationship with Tristan’s family, noting, “When I met them, Andrea and I became such good friends.” She highlighted her past involvement in Amari’s medical care, stating, “I was very much involved in all of his medical appointments when Andrea was here.”
